Sr. Clare Matthiass, C.F.R. has been a member of the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal since 1998.  The two-fold apostolic mission of the community is “hands-on” work with the poor and evangelization. Sr. Clare has served in the past as vocations director and formation director for candidates and postulants and just completed three years of travels with the assignment of “itinerant speaker”. Sister Clare is currently is serving as Community Vicar. She lives at Our Lady Queen of Angels Convent in East Harlem where the sisters run the Fr. Solanus Soup Kitchen, The Saint Joseph Food Pantry, a clothing room and youth ministry program, among other works of mercy.
